Contract, noun
A Contract is an agreement between two or more parties for the doing or not doing of something specified. A Contract is an agreement enforceable by law. The written form of such an agreement is the Contract.
All business in conducted using a Contract as a terms of reference for all facets of the provision of goods or services. Your employer has contracts with several persons or organizations for the goods or services your employer offers to the market. Without a Contract, a dispute resolution mechanism does not exist and litigation is the default position to settle issues.
Business won't do business without a Contract, why would you offer your services without a Contract?
A Contract of personal services spells out who does what, how much you are to be compensated, benefits, vacation, working conditions and provides an agreed upon dispute resolution mechanism. Without a Contract of personal services you do not have a solid ability to resolve problems and your employer can dismiss you without reason.
