The PHPA Human Factors Safety Conference represents a unique opportunity for both the line pilot community and the industry to address the most cited cause of helicopter mishaps.
This conference will include both formal presentations and moderated discussion forums between pilots and other concerned industry participants.
The purpose of this forum is to develop recommendations for the recently established International Helicopter Safety Team. Emphasis will be placed on developing and evaluating the effectiveness of safety initiatives rather than a review of known problems. In short, we want to know how you would propose to fix the problems you see daily.
As this effort maintains the atmosphere of cooperation fostered by the IHST initiative, it seeks to evaluate recommendations from stakeholders across the industry.
This forum is open to, and seeks input from individual pilots, as well as operators, manufacturers, customers, and others who are interested in developing strategies to reduce the unacceptably high rate of human factors related helicopter accidents.
